Artist and long-time Institute instructor Molly Ha Artist and long-time Institute instructor Molly Hashimoto has appreciated trees all her life. They have shaped her as a hiker, gardener, traveler, and artist. In her new book, Trees of the West: An Artist’s Guide, Molly emphasizes her personal experiences with nature, telling stories about encounters with trees everywhere from her backyard to national parks and forests throughout the West, with a special interest in native trees across the region.

To complement her Oct 16 in-person event at Village Books in Bellingham, Molly will join us online for an exclusive presentation to our Institute community! Participants will hear about Molly’s process of creating the book, enjoy a live demo of painting techniques, and hear personal reflections about her experience as a professional artist.
