“Poetry in the Rain” readings

To help take us away from the troubles of the world, we asked some staff and friends to share videos of them reading poetry during April, National Poetry Month. Our executive director Saul Weisberg kicked things off from his porch in Bellingham during a rainstorm with a glass of whiskey — setting the theme. He was followed by Evan Holstrom, the Institute’s program coordinator, poet and author Tim McNulty and poet and teacher Holly Hughes. Listening to poetry improves verbal skills and memory, sharpens critical thinking and develops empathy and insight.

We hope you enjoy these poetical diversions — you can find more readings on our YouTube channel.
